The Opportunity
Future focused and always one step ahead
This position focuses on origination, structuring and pricing of prospective capital management-related solutions for our R/I clients. This includes identifying, marketing and structuring of customized non-life reinsurance transactions in our target markets prevalent in the US. In addition, it will be necessary to lead project teams in order to coordinate and support product development but also to leverage collaboration with external partners like RI brokers, clients, data providers, and others. The execution of transactions will also require to manage the carriers as well as developing and checking the contract wordings.
Responsibilities
Price, structure and market capital management-related non-life reinsurance solutions
Execute new product offerings while leveraging the wider Munich Re organization and business units
Develop, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with clients, brokers, external partners and key decision makers with the goal to become their trusted partner and fill our sales pipeline
Develop jointly with clients/brokers/external partners and in consultation with business units
Increase the deal hit ratio by actively strengthen strategic relationships with external transaction service providers
Manage carriers and the legal requirements including the development and checking of primary and reinsurance wordings
Monitor the regulatory environment in all active jurisdictions and recommend/drive change that would enhance our product offerings or set up
Qualifications
7+ years of relevant experience preferred in the (re-)insurance sector with a demonstrated track record in executing structured reinsurance, retroactive reinsurance or insurance risk securitization transactions, or an equivalent background in enterprise risk management analytics, actuarial science, insurance corporate finance and financial modelling
Membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
Strong client orientation, with an entrepreneurial mindset and focus on execution
Specific market and product knowledge in US markets would be an advantage
Experienced as team and project leader with strong project management and networking capabilities
Innovative and execution-driven entrepreneurial mind set with track record of successfully implemented new products
Excellent technical understanding and demonstrated proficiency using pricing tools
Sound understanding of international regulation and accounting standards
Excellent expertise or willingness to develop deep expertise for contractual wordings around insurance and reinsurance as well as MGA agreements
Ability to take on responsibility, work independently, and prioritize
Willingness to travel for client presentations and client maintenance (up to 25% of the time)
This role is being offered in Princeton, NJ or New York, New York. The salary range posted below applies to the Company's NYC location.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $193,100 - $283,100 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in NYC. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
