SUMMARY:

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This role ensures the accuracy of financial statements, compliance with financial regulations, and the implementation of internal controls. The Controller will lead the accounting team, providing strategic financial insights to senior management and contribute to the company's long-term financial planning while living out the TCS Core Values.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards (e.g., GAAP, IRS regulations).
    • Present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to set financial goals.
    • Develop financial forecasts to predict future performance and make strategic recommendations to ensure the company's financial health.
  • Internal Controls:
    • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with financial policies and procedures, ensuring that all transactions are accurate and transparent.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Oversee cash flow management to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations.
    • Develop strategies to optimize working capital and enhance cash flow efficiency.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Ensure the company's tax filings are accurate and submitted on time, minimizing risks and penalties.
    • Work with external auditors and tax advisors to navigate complex tax regulations and optimize tax strategies.
  • Cost Management:
    • Monitor and control company expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, providing detailed explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Perform detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, providing actionable insights to senior management.
    • Conduct profitability analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and other financial assessments to guide strategic planning.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Ensure the team is adequately trained and that there are opportunities for growth within the department.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with the executive team on long-term financial planning, contributing to the development and execution of business strategies.
    • Provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making and align with the company's goals.
  • External Relationships:
    • Liaise with external auditors, bankers, tax authorities, and other financial institutions, maintaining strong professional relationships.
    • Manage relationships with other support vendors, including accounting software providers, financial consultants, and legal advisors, ensuring that services are aligned with the company's needs.
    • Ensure transparent and effective communication with stakeholders, including investors, regulatory bodies, and other key partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related business field
    • CPA or MBA preferred
    • 7-10 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
    • 3-5 years' proven success leading, managing and developing a team, preferably as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP

    • Skill in utilizing various Microsoft Excel, word processing, data visualization, recordkeeping, and/or other software programs relevant to the position (ex. Business Intelligence)
    • Strong organization and time management skills
    • Pays close attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to collaborate effectively and foster a team environment

WORK/LIFE

We have a really good work life balance! You will travel locally using your own vehicle, along with out-of-town travel for sales meetings, training opportunities and conferences. Don't worry, we are paying for your gas for your traveling. You will work safely when outside of the normal office setting, and adheres to the safety measures of client sites, including using personal protective equipment, if required.
