Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty: Surgical and Neuroscience ICU Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Epic experience REQUIRED Job Description: - Provide specialized care to critically ill adult patients aged 14 and older.- Manage a combined total of 30 intensive care beds for neuro and surgical patient populations.- Focus on patients with life-threatening conditions related to major elective and emergency surgical procedures, multi-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, seizure, sepsis/multi-organ system failure, and hemodynamic instability.- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, intensive monitoring, and treatment of laboratory values.- Manage ventilators and perform hemodynamic monitoring.- Demonstrate proficiency in ICP monitoring via EVD and bolt, spinal drains/catheters, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, reconstructive flap monitoring, and massive blood transfusion.- Support on-unit procedures including placement of arterial lines, central lines, external ventricular drains and ICP monitors, SEPS drains, bedside bronchoscopy, abdominal washouts, tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and pigtail drains. - Required to have experience with trauma and complex surgical patients.
