JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Center Facilities Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Harris Health System spaces housing IT equipment. Such spaces (called IT Secure Areas) include computer rooms, equipment rooms and telecommunications rooms. The position documents, provisions, installs, monitors and maintains the physical, electrical, environmental, and cabling infrastructure in such spaces. The position performs physical installation and changes to IT equipment housed in these spaces. The position works under the general supervision of a Senior Data Center Facilities Engineer and/or the IT Data Center Facilities manager, but often works independently, performing tasks that impact critical IT infrastructure. Position participates in a 24/7 on call rotation, and responds to issues after hours, as needed, to maintain IT services, including expedited response to critical issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Education, training, or licensing, to meet one or more of the following criteria is required;
2. Work Experience (Years and Area): A minimum of two years of experience supporting mission critical facilities, especially data center environments. Experience must be in at least two of the following areas.
3. Equipment Operated: Diagnostic and mechanical /electrical equipment required to test, diagnose, and maintain IT equipment and Facilities infrastructure.

4. Other Requirements: Must be willing to respond to IT related Outages on 24X7 basis. Must have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work efficiently, and good team orientation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Education, training, or licensing, to meet one or more of the following criteria is required;
- Associates degree in computer technology
- Licensed Electrician
- Current certification as CDCTP, CDCMP, CDCDP, or DCDC
- Completion of a military or trade school program in information technology at least equivalent to an associate degree in computer technology
- Current certifications in both A+ and Network +
- BICSI Technician certification, structured cabling
2. Work Experience (Years and Area): A minimum of two years of experience supporting mission critical facilities, especially data center environments. Experience must be in at least two of the following areas.
- IT equipment installation & configuration, including cabinets, racks, servers, network and storage devices.
- IT equipment configuration and basic troubleshooting, such as using KVM interfaces, IDRAC/ILO, management ports, connecting console/crash carts, remote configuration of network ports.
- Structured and patch cabling installation and maintenance, including installing, tracing, troubleshooting, labeling, testing, documenting and maintaining fiber and copper patch cabling to computer, storage and network equipment.
- Critical electrical distribution installation and maintenance, including connecting IT equipment to the electrical distribution; labeling; ordering plug configurations; monitoring electrical system parameters (such as branch currents, kW/kVA loads; managing and monitoring enterprise UPS, PDUs, and ATS); installing, monitoring and maintaining rack mount UPS, PDUs and ATS.
3. Equipment Operated: Diagnostic and mechanical /electrical equipment required to test, diagnose, and maintain IT equipment and Facilities infrastructure.
