About The Role

The Senior Accountant will execute, review, and support all finance and accounting-related activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis of the period-end close. This position will also lead accounting and reporting initiatives, proactively collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the resolution of accounting matters and implementation of strategies to reduce identified areas of risk.

This is HYBRID Role (4 days in Our New York City SOHO HQ & 1 days Remote).

Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 Year

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute and/or review assigned areas from the period-end financial close process, including recording, and reviewing journal entries, reviewing expense accruals, and performing financial analysis of Balance Sheet accounts for specific business units.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations within the established deadlines. Ensure reconciling items are researched, supported, and decision in accordance with company policy.
  • Lead the resolution of accounting matters and provide insight and analysis to assist business partner's understanding of accounting activities.
  • Provide leadership over process improvements, including automation of certain close functions and template standardization.
  • Assist with accounting activities, including consolidations, and intercompany transactions and eliminations.
  • Oversee all aspects of cost accounting within the manufacturing environment, including standard cost development and maintenance, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and activity-based costing.
  • Prepare and present insightful financial reports such as cost of goods sold statements, profitability analyses, and budget variances, contributing to informed decision-making.
  • Ensure that the accounting records, reports and supporting documentation are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government regulations.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities.
  • Manage the preparation of audit schedules and details.
  • Assist with system development and implementation.
  • Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs.
  • Preparation and performance of ad hoc or ongoing projects and schedules as needed.


Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA and MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of progressive accounting experience in an organization of similar scale and complexity.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and internal controls.
  • High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Highly detail oriented.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve desired results.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional skepticism.
  • Ideal candidate will have a desire, willingness, and ability to grow beyond the advertised role, and at the appropriate time move to another role within finance or the broader organization.
  • Must have a moderate to high level of competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of GP is a plus.
