Position Summary:
The Office of The State Bank Commissioner (OSBC) has a position opening for a Director of Finance & Administration and is located at the OSBC Topeka office. This position reports to the Bank Commissioner and is a member of the Executive Team. The position oversees, and is responsible for the budgeting, accounting, human resources, training and other administrative duties. Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:
The Office of The State Bank Commissioner (OSBC) has a position opening for a Director of Finance & Administration and is located at the OSBC Topeka office. This position reports to the Bank Commissioner and is a member of the Executive Team. The position oversees, and is responsible for the budgeting, accounting, human resources, training and other administrative duties. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and manage the agency budget in consultation with the Bank Commissioner.
- Attend and present the agency budget to the Legislature.
- Manage day-to-day operations of accounting, training and human resources areas for the agency.
- Evaluates effectiveness of workflow processes and internal controls.
- Responsible for fiscal year bank assessments which include, calculating, communicating, and collecting the assessments in coordination with the Treasurer's office.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent experience as determined by the agency. (transcripts required)
- Three to five years professional accounting/auditing work including experience in planning, organizing, and directing the work of a department, program, or agency.
- Commitment to confidentiality, accountability, and integrity.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong initiative and teamwork/leadership skills.
- Extensive experience in both the Statewide Management, Accounting, and Reporting Tool (SMART) and the Statewide Human Resources and Payroll (SHARP) system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Valid State of Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is required in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03. Each applicant (even non-KS residents) must apply for a Tax Clearance Certificate within 10 days from the date of their job offer.
- Completion of a background and credit check.
