WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Director of Construction is responsible for providing construction management leadership and oversight for all projects in the new school development pipeline. As the Director of Construction, you will lead a team of internal construction leads and third party construction managers to ensure that construction execution is performed at the highest level of quality, timely and within budget. This includes the selection and ongoing management of third party vendors, coordinating internal efforts and decisions, and communicating to Franchise Owners. He/She will need to showcase agility by moving quickly and easily and when needed, change direction, and focus with ease.
*This role does require a minimum of 50% domestic travel, both planned and unplanned. Travel is primarily during the weekdays; however, some travel may occur on a weekend

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads, oversees and implements construction management structure, process and execution for all projects in development from permit approvals to closeout
- Ensures that internal Construction Leads and third party Construction Managers consistently perform duties as required and meet expected deliverables across all projects
- Partners with Development Project Managers during development phases for constructability and budget considerations, and ultimately for preparation of team transition into construction at permit approval stages
- Provide direct oversight of specific projects in concert with other internal Construction Lead support
- Reviews design and construction opportunities for cost reduction considerations
- Manages overall contractor qualifications, bid process, bid analysis and award
- Responsible for visiting proposed sites, and directing meetings to coordinate the construction of schools with Approving Agencies, Franchise Owners, Construction Managers, General Contractor and/or Developers
- Ensures quality control standards and practices for construction of Primrose Schools
- Responsible for the maintaining accurate construction status reports, milestone date targets and forecasting, while providing regular updates to the Chief Development Officer
- Solicit feedback from Contractors, Franchise Owner's, Operators, Vendors, Construction Managers, regarding plan and design improvements and implemented changes
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred; and/or relevant experience
- 10 + years construction management experience in a construction leadership role with field experience
- Working knowledge and utilization of MS Project, Bluebeam, and Procore (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and deadlines, while continuing to deliver service excellence.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to multiple groups, both up and down/ internal and external.
- Proven ability to stay organized and detail-oriented, while being self-directed and self-motivated.
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel.
