Job Summary: Specialize in women's health, providing comprehensive care that includes preventive services, prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum care, as well as diagnostic and treating reproductive disorders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to women, focusing on reproductive health pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period.
  • Perform routine gynecological examinations and screenings, including Pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat medical conditions and diseases affecting the female reproductive system, such as endometriosis, infertility, and sexually transmitted infections.
  • Monitor fetal development during pregnancy through ultrasound and other diagnostic tests.
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies and provide counseling and support to patients facing pregnancy-related complications.
  • Perform surgical procedures as needed, including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopic surgeries.
  • Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception options, and lifestyle choices that promote overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and specialists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Stay updated with medical research, guidelines and advancements in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.


Requirements

Professional Requirements:
  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
  • Completes annual education requirements, including all state federal and CMS regulations.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
  • Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized time system correctly.
  • Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.
  • Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
  • Attends staff meetings; reads and returns staff meeting minutes.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and quality improvement CQI activities, attends committee and management meetings, as appropriate.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicates the mission, vision, core values, ethics and goals of the hospital.
  • Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments and staff.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety and infection control.


Regulatory Requirements:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • BE/BC: Board eligible or certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Kansas state medical license
  • DEA registration
  • Current BLS required
  • Current ACLS required
  • Current PALS required
  • Current TNCC required
