Position: Test Engineer II

Nature of Role: The Test Engineer II will support Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), Code 15 Sensors and SONAR department, by developing, executing, and evaluating the quality and effectiveness of delivered hardware and software. Position requires strong communication and documentation skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with NUWC engineers to develop test procedures and provide written reports capturing all phases of the event.
  • Execute test procedures as written and provide feedback to all stakeholders.
  • Communicate with government sponsor about any discrepancies witnessed during testing.
  • Support lab technicians during installation of land-based test systems with SME knowledge of system cabling. This includes inventorying all equipment, auxiliary equipment, and spare parts.
  • Maintain program milestone schedule to ensure project follows established timeline. Communicate to all stakeholders any changes to the milestone schedule.
  • Produce monthly reports for customers, and corporate.

Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of Five years of experience conducting Testing and Evaluation functions within the DoD framework.
  • Strong verbal communications skills working across a multi-disciplined team of engineering professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills managing large amounts of information. Ensuring all data is properly handled based on current markings and distributed to all stakeholders as necessary.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Prior experience with AN/SQQ-89 SONAR systems is desired, but not required.
  • SECRET clearance

Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher is required at time of hire.
