FLSA Status: Exempt Salary

Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000/annually

The Accounting Manager will plan and direct the accounting activities of the department. You will work cross-functionally to ensure accurate revenue and liability recognition, fixed asset tracking and reporting. You, along with the controller, are responsible for setting team vision, team performance through coaching, and improving process through leadership for business initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for customer invoicing, and accounts payable.
  • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
  • Responsible for monthly financial close process, including Journal entries preparation and posting in accordance with accounting policy and GAAP.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Complete month-end results reporting and variance analysis vs. forecasts and budget.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Oversight of banking activities, related account reconciliations, and oversight of daily cash flow.
  • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  • Participate in financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Maintain all buildings and equipment leases in accordance with ASC842, utilizing lease software.
  • Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year
  • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Provides ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.


Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamic 365 Business Central.
  • Experience in the Recycling industry a plus.
