Position Summary
The Executive Director (ED) will lead the organization as Oliver Gospel's highest-level employee. The ED collaborates with and reports directly to the Board Chair and Board of Directors and may be required to participate in robust training and development opportunities as assigned. The ED has overall operational, financial, and spiritual responsibility for the organization's staff, programs, facilities, community outreach, and execution of its mission. In addition to leading the efforts of Oliver Gospel's leadership team, the Executive Director manages a portfolio of current and prospective donors.
The ED continuously seeks to understand and capture knowledge about the local population suffering from shelter and food insecurities to support effective short and long-term planning around core programs, operations, social enterprises, and strategic governance. The ED is also responsible for building relationships with board members, funders, community partners, government officials, financial organizations, faith-based leaders, and others to accomplish the organization's mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The ED will be tasked with continuing the work of the all-volunteer board & community leaders, while at the same time offering new ways to engage the community.

Position Qualifications

- Valid South Carolina driver's license and safe driving record
For the Executive Director
- Graduate degree preferred or equivalent experience in non-profit organizational leadership
- Possess a shepherd leadership style with a strong heart for ministry
- Proven ability to develop and lead a team-based staff organization
- Proven experience in working well with a Board of Directors
- Ability to interface and collaborate well with community leaders
- Proven ability to raise and manage financial resources

Position Responsibilities
- Develop and cast an organizational ministry vision supported by the senior leadership team
- Maintain a leadership team and staff that reflects the organization's ministry and vision
- Develop, coach, and advise direct reports along with other staff and ministry teams
- Attend all Board meetings and provide appropriate reports
- Provide the Board with adequate information to help reach sound decisions and establish effective policies and continuous improvement efforts
- Provide opportunities for the Board to experience meaningful engagements with staff
- Ensure facility quality checks and improvement measures are actively implemented
- Present annual operating budgets and strategic plans for Board approval
- In conjunction with the Director of Development and other leadership teammates, actively
engage and collaborate with community leaders and donors
- Ensure there are many "faces" to Oliver Gospel when engaging with the community and donors
- Lead and maintain a continual pulse of overall operational and cultural health
