Hours: Administrators and Supervisors are excpected to devote the necessary time and effort required to properly complete their assigned responsibilities. It is understood that such time and effort may exceed the limites of normal working hours.
Required Qualifications
The Director of Student Services and School Improvement is responsible for the coordination, delivery, evaluation and refinement of Student Services programs which includes addressing the needs of students through the problem solving process, Response to Intervention (RtI), and the Continuous School Improvement (CSI) process. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the coordination of mental health, and tutoring services. The Director works collaboratively with administrative and instructional staff, and communicates effectively with parents, members of the community, and colleagues in other districts and schools.

Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid New York State administrative certificate (SDA/SDL) or be eligible for the same;
- Relevant knowledge and experience leading student support services, such as school counselors, social workers, and related service area programs;
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated skills in administration, analysis, leadership, planning, problem-solving, and oral and written communication;
- ?Passionate about inspiring and motivating teams to achieve exceptional results;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the REACH Strategic Plan;
- Successful experience using best practices and trends in education to achieve significant improvements in student outcomes;
- Demonstrated experience with evidence-based instructional practices and a proven ability to support educators in designing and implementing an effective, well-integrated, structure of tiered supports that will increase student achievement;
- Successful experience in collaborating with educators to develop and implement behavior support plans, utilizing evidence-based practices to improve student behavior, academic performance, and overall social and emotional well-being;
- Demonstrated capacity to use data analysis to guide decision making in order to promote school improvement;
- Demonstrated successful experience as building or district administrator and experience related to working in socioeconomically and culturally diverse school settings; and
- Deep understanding of GCSD school improvement processes and related school and District plans.

Duties:
- Develop a strategic plan for the Student Services Department that is aligned with the District's strategic framework;
- Collaboration with the Director of School Improvement around district priorities;
- Ensure the seamless delivery of support services for students through cooperative, collaborative and timely efforts with district and school personnel, students parents, and external organizations/agencies;
- Coordinate District tutoring services;
- Supervision of the Phoenix Academy Program for alternative learning and students serving suspension, along with GED;
- Research, develop and implement a systemic process for K-12 plans and programs for support services. Work with internal and external providers to ensure appropriate levels of services;
- Establish positive community relationships and support partnerships through community school model;
- Coordinate K-12 activities related to School Emotional Learning (SEL), including Leader in Me and other programming;
- Coordinate Trauma, Illness and Grief (TIG) responses and systems;
- Coordinate behavior support systems and response, including supporting the Code of Conduct implementation and oversight;
- Coordination of mental health systems and interventions, including school counseling services, social workers, and substance abuse prevention services;
- Work with the Director of Pupil Personnel Services to coordinate behavioral support for students;
- Oversee the development and implementation of counseling curriculum;
- Assist in the ongoing development and refinement of multi-tiered systems of support;
- Coordinate home/hospital instruction and tutoring services for students;
- Present regulations, program plans or proposals, and evaluative reports to the administration, school staff, and the community as required;
- Recommend and enact development of and/or revisions to policies, regulations and procedures in compliance with federal and state regulations as they relate to specific program areas and/or services for students;
- Supervise and evaluate the activities of Homeless Liaison, Family Support Center Coordinator, and behavior analysts;
- Oversee efforts to secure additional grant funding for District priorities, including RtI, mental health supports/services, and social emotional learning;
- Serve on the District's Leadership Team, serve on/chair other District committees, as assigned;
