The Product Development Manager, Apparel will lead a team of product developers to deliver excellence in the development of apparel, headwear and accessories for Team, Performance and Lifestyle categories. This is a hands-on leadership position that will manage and coordinate with the team to deliver each season most efficiently and effectively while taking on development projects as needed.

The Product Development Manager, Apparel will lead a team of product developers to deliver excellence in the development of apparel, headwear and accessories for Team, Performance and Lifestyle categories. This is a hands-on leadership position that will manage and coordinate with the team to deliver each season most efficiently and effectively while taking on development projects as needed.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Direct and execute all development projects within apparel, headwear and accessories on time and on target.
- Build and maintain a development calendar for all categories and ensure key dates are being met.
- Lead, educate, and mentor team members ensuring they are prepared for growth and overcoming challenges.
- Coordinate and facilitate product team meetings to discuss decision-making processes, track progress of development projects and to meet deliverables and deadlines.
- Promote a positive work environment through group meetings and improved communication.
- Evaluate and communicate project status to internal stakeholders; Design, Brand, Sourcing, Supply Planners and Marketing.
- Partner collaboratively with design, brand, technical, supply, sourcing and quality on projects and development strategy.
- Ensure samples and product confirmations are delivered effectively and efficiently.
- Work with sourcing to locate the most competitively priced and cutting-edge products.
- Drive innovation with development team.
- Oversee certification process and ensure all necessary testing and certifications are being met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience in apparel development or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
- Must have knowledge of the sporting goods/performance apparel industry.
- Complete understanding of apparel design, development and production processes.
- Strong technical apparel development and analytical skills including a strong understanding of costing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Illustrator.
- Experience with project management and PLM systems. Complex project development experience preferred.
- Prior experience managing a team and demonstrated ability to lead, educate and mentor team members.
- Desire to push innovation in developing best in class products.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate + communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized and detail-orientated, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment at a very detailed level.
- Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed.
