JOB SUMMARY:

The Planning and Analysis Director is responsible for leading and directing a team of P&A professionals in the gathering and production of various reports, analytics, forecasts, plans and presentations to management. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for producing all property financial analysis as requested under the direction of the CFO and GM.
  • Review operations for cost-savings opportunities and work cross-functionally to incorporate these initiatives.
  • Identify key data sources and utilize data-driven insights about important departmental metrics to improve business decisions.
  • In collaboration with the Finance Controller, coordinate, prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual rolling forecasts and prepare reporting on actuals versus budgeted (P&L) results, including additional ad-hoc analysis on results.
  • Review historical data, predict future results, analyze data, explain variances, and provide recommendations.
  • Perform quantitative analysis required for strategic planning, special projects, and reports for management and communicate results to the management team.
  • Build clear, accurate and reliable predictive forecast modeling for multiple functional areas within Saracen.
  • Produces market performance and forecasting reports, gaming revenue projections and analysis reports.
  • In collaboration with the Finance Controller and Fixed Asset Manager, performs Annual Capital and Operating Budget analysis including lead responsibility in the development of the annual budgets.
  • Produces reports on long-range financial planning, labor staffing analysis, and on-demand analysis requests by managers and directors.
  • Creates procedures that will enhance the forecasting of financial performance by coordinating with managers and other departments' team members under the direction of the CFO.
  • Continuously develop tools/systems and automate processes.
  • Compiles, maintains, and provides analysis on data related to effective utilization of complimentary programs offered to Guests.
  • Maintains confidentiality and is an outstanding example of and a credit to Saracen Casino Resort
  • Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
  • Ensures strict confidentiality of organizational data and plans throughout the P&A staff.
  • And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, P&A, or Marketing in a Gaming Environment Required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and outside parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving and results.
  • Strong PC skills required.
  • Must be a self-motivator.
  • Must be detail and result oriented.
  • Possess excellent math, statistical and technical financial analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Financial/Accounting software, budgeting software, Excel spreadsheets and other MS Office products. Experience with automated payroll and slot accounting systems a plus.
