Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible to oversee all financial aspects for the business, support financial planning and analysis, and act as a collaborative business partner in finance matters with senior members of the organization.

Forest Protection Limited (FPL) is seeking talent for the position of Director of Finance. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible to oversee all financial aspects for the business, support financial planning and analysis, and act as a collaborative business partner in finance matters with senior members of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Finance is responsible for the following key tasks:
- Lead the annual budget process and provide internal budget training and oversight.
- Lead the monthly forecasting process and produce monthly financial reports to aid the Executive Team and Board of Directors in decision making.
- Provide direction, oversight and mentoring to the Accounting team for all activities within the Accounting department, including payroll, accounts receivable/payable, cashflow management, financial reporting, sales tax, and benefits administration.
- Participate in and lead special projects relating to organizational growth or adaptability to changing organizational needs.
- Establish and implement internal controls, and act as escalation point for all internal control concerns relating to the Accounting Department.
- Support external meetings as required and participate in Board of Director meetings when requested.
- Ensure that the annual external audit is completed in a timely manner and that auditors' recommendations are implemented accordingly within FPL.
- Develop and track KPI's for department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in in Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent.
- CPA Designation.
- 5+ years post-designation experience, including 2+ years in a management role.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of business acumen by directing financial planning and strategy for the business.

- Must have demonstrated leadership skills.

- Being legally entitled to work in Canada
- Successful Criminal Record Check
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
