TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer

GRADE: Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY: Develop processes and techniques to improve productivity, solve production problems and ensure conformance to customer drawings and specifications with minimal supervision while meeting PURSUIT AEROSPACE job requirements and customer requirements.

EDUCATION: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline is required from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum five years' experience in engineering required. Preference given to candidates with experience in aerospace manufacturing, along with experience working with blisks, impellers, and IBR's.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Develop efficient manufacturing process plans in conjunction with manufacturing and quality personnel that specify manufacturing sequence, technique, equipment, tooling and specifications required for the product
  • Properly interpret engineering drawings, specifications, drawings, sketches and other documentation
  • Design, develop, document, analyze, write and test CNC programs to manufacture quality parts on schedule for a minimum cost
  • Interface with customers to resolve problems, make clarifications or make modifications to blueprint and/or other customer supplied data
  • Design and engineer tooling for all manufacturing processes
  • Ensure parts are to schedule with consistent quality to meet PURSUIT AEROSPACE and customer requirements in most productive manner
  • Accountable for product cost/loss/productivity
  • Owns procedures to control and standardize manufacturing processes
  • Review and analyze new equipment/machinery specifications in order to select the best for quality, productivity and economy
  • Develop planning for repair of customer returns (RMR's) and MRB products
  • Accountable to process first pass yield
  • Accountable to supporting #1 customer - Shop Floor Associates
  • Examine and review CAD sketches to delineate PURSUIT AEROSPACE product at various operational levels
  • Efficient, effective and timely response to customer engineering changes and requests (CNR'S)
  • Prepare cost estimates for products, tooling, equipment and processes for pricing and improved production
  • Use safe practices and work to maintain a safe working environment
  • Perform job duties meeting requirements of PURSUIT AEROSPACE and customers
  • Comply with policy and procedure requirements of PURSUIT AEROSPACE
  • Use effective problem solving for job-related issues
  • Participate in continual improvement programs (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma)
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by management
  • Define, specify and procure tooling required to manufacture products
  • Design holding fixtures and cutting tools required to maximize manufacturing efficiency at minimal cost
  • Conduct test of vendor furnished tools to determine their efficiency
  • Investigate and analyze tools, processes, and equipment to reduce manufacturing costs
  • Analyze & interpret the data on the customer blueprints to determine the best way to proceed to reach the desired outcomes. Use your discretion and judgment how to receive the optimal results that the customer is looking for in our manufacturing and/or inspection of their parts
