POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the riverboats and its systems ensuring proper operation according to all applicable regulatory agency regulations year round, completing quarterly inspections and having the riverboat fully ready for AVS Consulting. Inc.'s annual and semi-annual inspections. The individual is also responsible for serving both the external and internal customers by providing a friendly and safe atmosphere on the riverboat.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.)
1. Provide extraordinary guest service, positively affects interactions with internal/external guests, resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all encounters and the ability to work harmoniously with fellow team members.
2. Adhere to and enforce compliance with all regulations established by the Louisiana State Police - Gaming Division, United States Coast Guard, AVS Consulting, OSHA and other applicable agencies pertaining to riverboat gaming and riverboat operations while adhering to the policies and procedures set forth by Boomtown Casino & Hotel.
3. Maintain all equipment/systems onboard the riverboat ensuring all are operational and kept in a state of readiness by using a preventive maintenance schedule, inspections and tracking of tasks assigned & completed.
4. Direct all marine personnel to complete projects, tasks and duties with minimal impact to guest service.
5. Ensure all qualification programs are administered properly, and candidates are trained in all aspects required.
6. Fulfill responsibilities as Riverboat Person-in-Charge per the riverboat's Station Bill when onboard and ensure training and competency of personnel to fulfill those responsibilities when assigned.
7. Provide comprehensive training (a) on riverboat systems to Captain-Of-The-Watch and (b) on safety systems/equipment and emergency procedures to persons assigned Station Bill duties.
8. Coordinates tasks requiring Environmental Services support.
9. Inform Director of Facilities of any unsafe issue related to the riverboat. Takes prompt action to abate unsafe issues on the riverboat.
10. Execute all tasks as assigned by the Director of Facilities

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to create or read and interpret documents such as riverboat schematics, blueprints, construction drawings and policy and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine correspondence and process needed reports.
Ability to speak effectively with customers and/or Team Members.
Ability to create or carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems and implement effective solutions.
Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, cold, heat, humidity, vibration, crowds, and smoke.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass a chemical dependency test as required and work in a drug free environment.
Must obtain and maintain the appropriate work authorization required to perform job responsibilities.
Possess (either current or previously) the following as a minimum. If the license is not current, then the expired license is not older than 5 years and has not been revoked or suspended by the U.S. Coast Guard.
o USCG license as Master of motor vessel of 1,600 gross tons.
Five (5) years of experience onboard vessels required.
Prior experience onboard riverboat casinos preferred.
College degree required or may be substituted with extensive work history.
High degree of interpersonal skills.
Must have strong leadership and team building skills.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
