Position Summary:

The I&O Cloud Engineer is a highly hands-on role responsible for the build, operational maintenance, lifecycle support and project delivery for the Technology Services scope. Reporting to the Director of Cloud Engineering, the Cloud Engineer ensures the security, stability, functionality, evolution and performance of I&O delivered services. The I&O Cloud Engineer is also responsible for the day-to-day activities performed by the I&O Engineering team ensuring the achievement of robust solutions / operations and project deliverables on-time and within budget. The main purpose of this position is to ensure that the delivery and operation of infrastructure or serverless solutions under I&O ownership meets business requirement and expectations in terms of performance, availability, security and continuity. The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to:
Supporting and maintaining infrastructure, security, site recovery and disaster recovery plans. Consolidation of hosting environments and alignment with standards.
Designing and Deploying solutions on Azure and AWS.
Data Centre and Cloud network architecture, implementation and support.
Hypervisor design and administration.
Operating Systems (Windows / Linux) Monitoring tools and automation.
Web services and APIs.
Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines.
DBMS (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DBaaS...)
Infrastructure support, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting.
ITSM processes and procedures.
Technical leadership and project delivery.
Compliance and Audit controls The position is expected to analyze complex problems and develop solutions that are aligned with best practice and compliant with industry standards. As a member of a global function, the I&O Cloud Engineer will also need to work across the WELL Group of business units and geographies to ensure 24x7 operational excellence, service availability and advancement of technologies to underpin business growth.

What you will be doing:

Design and implement solutions and operational enhancements that are aligned with the I&O strategic direction whilst ensuring industry standards for the protection of medical data and systems.
Define, document, build and support infrastructure that is cost effective, secure and performant, in alignment with business requirements and I&O standards.
Leverage operational knowledge and experience to perform root cause analysis and define action plans to improve stability and performance.
Identify opportunities to implement automation and infrastructure-as-code to drive efficiencies, increase pace of delivery, and maximize service stability.
Provide full stack support for infrastructure associated with I&O delivered services.
Provide 24x7 support, on a rotation basis, for incidents impacting I&O services.
Manage the operational lifecycle of in-scope infrastructure and supporting services.
Define and execute operational procedures as part of the continuous improvement of infrastructure services.
Collaborate with SRE's, Developers, Service Providers, Vendors and other stakeholder groups as required.
Support adherence to standards, policies and procedures.
Ensure consistency with internal and external audit requirements.

You have:

Education / Experience:
BSc / BA or equivalent experience.
+7 years of infrastructure operations and build experience with strengths in both on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
Professional certification in one or more public cloud environments (Azure / AWS).

Technical / functional skills:
Expert in infrastructure operations, architecture, troubleshooting and lifecycle management.
Expert knowledge of cloud providers service offerings and how to leverage these to underpin business objectives.
Experience designing, building, and administering MS SQL databases in a multi-tenant, clustered environment.
Optionally, knowledge of MySQL and MariaDB.
Strong working knowledge of on-premise and cloud migration, troubleshooting and optimization.
Expert in VMWare Hypervisor and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Strong experience in network and security (cloud and on-premise data centres). Experience with Palo Alto and/or Fortigate firewalls and optionally, Azure/AWS Firewalls.
Experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code design, implementation, and operation.
Developing, deploying, debugging cloud infrastructure with architectural experience defining resilient, fault tolerant, highly available and cost effective solutions.
Strong working knowledge of automation tools.
Excellent documentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range / Hourly Pay range: $110k - $130k per annum
