Treasury Manager
Banesco USA is seeking a Treasury Manager for our Treasury Business Unit.
Primary Job Duties:
- Develop and support the Treasurer implement strategies to optimize the bank's balance sheet, ensuring liquidity, profitability, and risk management objectives are met.
- Monitor and manage the bank's asset and liability mix to maintain a desirable funding profile.
- Determine and analyze interest rate exposure and develop strategies, including the use of interest rate derivatives, to mitigate potential losses.
- Oversee the bank's liquidity position and ensure compliance with regulatory requirement and internal limits. Responsible for coordinating collateral management and wholesale funding.
- Monitor market conditions and economic indicators to assess their impact on the bank's risk profile.
- Identify, assess, and manage interest rate risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk associated with the bank's balance sheet.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and counterparties.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to asset and liability management, including capital adequacy, liquidity, and interest rate risk.
- Support the Treasurer preparing regular reports for ALCO, Board of Directors, or any other forum on the bank's asset and liability and liquidity positions, risk exposures, and financial performance.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, challenges, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Update Treasury policies and procedures, in subjects related to the Treasury Manager functions.
- Update contingency funding plan and liquidity stress testing periodically aligned with market best practices.
- Responsible for completing annual training program assigned.
- Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering. MBA and/or CFA preferred.
- Experience: five (5) or more years of experience in Banking, Financial Services, with ALM and liquidity analytical roles.
- Knowledgeable about financial markets/instruments and how to mitigate relevant financial risk.
- Highly skilled in interest rate risk modeling. Expert with Empyrean ALM modeling, loading data, assumptions and analyzing results.
- Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis tools (advanced Excel, Word, Power Point and Bloomberg)
- Understanding of financial markets, economic principles, relevant Treasury functions, policies, guidelines, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information concisely.
- Able to thrive in a collaborative work environment and effectively communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to identify and manage risks proactively.
- Excellent time management and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment are crucial.
- A meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic are necessary for ensuring data accuracy and report quality.
- Must be fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and being a proactive learner.
