Position Overview:
As a 7th through 8th grade Middle School Principal, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of our students. Responsibilities:

Educational Leadership:
  • Provide visionary leadership to enhance the overall academic performance of the school.
  • Foster a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement among staff and students.

Equitable Resource Allocation:
  • Ensure the equitable distribution of resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Advocate for and allocate resources that support educational equity and remove barriers to success.

Inclusive School Culture:
  • Cultivate an inclusive and respectful school culture that values diversity.
  • Implement strategies to ensure all students feel a sense of belonging and are supported in their learning.

Community Engagement:
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and the broader community to enhance student success.
  • Facilitate partnerships and initiatives that empower the community to actively participate in the educational process.

Teacher Support and Development:
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers, fostering a collaborative and professional learning environment.
  • Encourage continuous professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Student Support Services:
  • Oversee the implementation of support services to address the social, emotional, and academic needs of students.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement intervention strategies as needed.

Curriculum Oversight:
  • Ensure the alignment of curriculum with state standards and district goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers to enhance and innovate instructional practices.

Data-Informed Decision Making:
  • Utilize student performance data to make informed decisions about instructional strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers to analyze data and develop action plans for improvement.

Crisis Management:
  • Develop and implement crisis management protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders during critical situations.
Planning and Organization:
  • Organize the staff, certified and classified, for their most effective use, capitalizing on the strengths of staff members.
  • Develop and maintain plans to meet the future facilities, staffing and equipment needs of the school.
  • Develop a master schedule for the effective use of facilities and staff
Human Relations:
  • Develop and maintain a program of public relations, which fosters awareness and understanding of school goals, activities and programs, and ensures parent and community input, involvement and support.
Business:
  • Monitor and approve expenditures of funds allocated to the school through the budget and other sources.
  • Develop a realistic budget recommendation for the succeeding year operations, maintenance and capital outlay.
  • Implement the District policy for handling and depositing all money collected at the school.
  • Create and implement effective procedures to inventory and secure all school district property.
Professional Growth:
  • Pursue instructional leadership skills and administrative expertise through comprehensive professional reading and/or attendance at seminars, workshops, conferences, etc.
Buildings and Grounds:
  • Supervise and inspect all facilities, equipment and programs to ensure the health and safety of students and staff
Additional Duties
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. It is essential to note that the above description is illustrative and not exhaustive.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
  • Valid Principal or Superintendent Certification.
  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Commitment to educational equity, inclusivity, and community empowerment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Earned paid time off shall begin to accrue at the commencement of employment or July 1st, whichever, is later. Full-time Employee (11 month) 96 Hours

Education and/or Experience:
  • Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years previous leadership experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
  • Valid Arizona Principal or Superintendent certificate

Working Environment:
  • The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • May be required to travel to various school district buildings and attend professional meetings as needed, actively participating in the collective efforts to empower the community.
Terms of Employment:
  • Salary schedule commensurate with education and experience for this position
  • 232 days of work

Clearances:
  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella Immunity/Vaccination
  • Valid I-9 form
  • AZ Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Evaluation:
  • Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the District administration in accordance with the Governing Board Policy.
