Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Director is responsible for the daily clinical oversight of an Integrated Health Clinic. The Clinical Director develops, directs, and supervises the clinic's clinical processes, programs, and staff in delivering a broad range of substance use and other behavioral health services. The Clinical Director manages the clinical program in a manner that is consistent with NAC's mission and philosophy as well as clinical and ethical best practices and standards.

Duties:

Trains supervises, and evaluates the clinical supervisors and clinical staff; maintains. documentation of staff supervision and/or oversight and provides regular supervision reports consistent with NAC policy and procedures. Supervises and coordinates the client treatment and discharge planning processes and meetings, including external provider/agency coordination of care and utilization review processes. Ensures all incoming referrals (by fax, email, and phone calls/walk-ins) are responded and processed efficiently and expeditiously. Oversees the screening of referrals for necessary clinical information and schedules clients for assessments as quickly as possible. Accomplishes high residential bed occupancy by implementing and overseeing procedures around daily re-structuring of priority clients into treatment; identifying and monitoring potential problem clerical or system practices; thinking strategically to remove barriers to timely referral processing, assessment completion and residential admission. Approve/sign off on all clinical documentation to ensure timely, comprehensive, and accurate clinical documentation is completed by Assessor staff. Oversees submission of prior authorizations for residential programs including any follow-up as needed to resolve authorization and claims-related issues. Selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels and holds staff accountable; communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, appraising job contributions; recommends compensation for Clinical and Admissions/Intake staff. Tracks all referrals to ensure timely assessments are offered and completed. In the event that a client is outreached and does not engage, the client chart is closed. Assures accuracy of client data and fiscal information by conducting and completing regular audits of the previous day's client data and fiscal information including demographics Monitors referring trends by maintaining various categories of statistical data for utilization within internal reporting systems. Collaborates with the Senior Director of Integrated Health on business development and contracts. Participates in the development/refinement of clinical programs, policies and procedures, and overall organizational operations. Supervises and ensures the timely completion and maintenance of accurate client medical records in accordance with NAC Policies and Procedures and local, state, and federal regulations. Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Master's Degree required. Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Counselor, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist. Independent licensure is preferred. WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENT: Ten-plus years of progressive experience in delivering and supervising substance use and other behavioral health services. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with various people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors. Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Previous experience in working with diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Demonstrates a working knowledge of local, state, and federal standards and State licensure requirements. Requires strong clinical skills. Excellent customer service skills. Experience in working with the Native American population is preferred. Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work well with others in a team approach.
