Job Title: Registered NurseJob Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)Job Duration: 13 weeksShift: 07:00-19:00Guaranteed Hours: To be discussedExperience: Minimum of 2 yearsLicense: Valid RN license requiredCertifications: Must have Epic experienceMust-Have: Recent Trauma Level One experienceJob Description:- Work in a Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit with a combined total of 30 intensive care beds.- Provide specialized care to critically ill patients 14 years and older.- Care for patients with life-threatening conditions related to surgical procedures, multi-trauma, brain injuries, spinal injuries, stroke, seizures, sepsis, hemodynamic instability, and more.- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and intensive monitoring, including treatment of laboratory values, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.- Manage intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring via EVD and bolt, spinal drains, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, reconstructive flap monitoring, and massive blood transfusion.- Support on-unit procedures including placement of arterial/central lines, external ventricular drains, SEPS drains, bedside bronchoscopy, abdominal washouts, tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and pigtail drains.- Demonstrate competency with EVDs, bolts, and ICP management along with experience with trauma and complex surgical patients.Note: Local candidates from specific counties may not be considered due to policy changes effective January 2024.
