Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid state RN license required Certifications: Epic experience required Must-Have: - Recent Trauma Level One experience - Competency with EVDs, bolts, and ICP management - Experience with trauma and complex surgical patients - 1.5 years of experience in a 600+ bed academic hospital or 2 years of total experience (traveling + permanent) Job Description: - Provide specialized care in a Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU and Neuro ICU) - Care for critically ill adult patients aged 14 and older - Manage conditions related to major elective and emergency surgical procedures, multi-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, seizure, sepsis/multi-organ system failure, hemodynamic instability, and more - Perform comprehensive physical assessments and intensive monitoring - Manage ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring - Support on-unit procedures such as placement of arterial lines, central lines, and external ventricular drains - Utilize skill sets including ICP monitoring, spinal drains/catheters, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, reconstructive flap monitoring, and massive blood transfusion - Must complete competency test within 48 hours of submission
