The Nursing Education Specialist supports individual, unit, organization and network learners in interprofessional practice and learning environments to facilitate the continuous development along the continuum from novice to expert. Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor learners and educators, champion of scientific inquiry and partner in practice transitions, to impact patient outcomes and champion network strategies. Assess data based on situational urgency. Assess and analyze data to develop tailored plans, drawing on adult learning theories, experience, knowledge and evidence-based practice.

The NES - Surgery (RN) at Community Hospital North will be part of a professional surgical team (OR, Pre/post-op, Endo) responsible for assisting with new hire orientation and will assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the educational needs of the surgical nursing staff. Will meet regularly with new orientees, preceptor and hiring manager to provide feedback on orientation progress. Will assist in development of strategies for clinical success of new orientees within the Operating Room, Pre/post-op/PACU and Endoscopy. Will be responsible for ongoing competency check-offs and education for all staff. Will also be collaborating with multidisciplinary education team. Will assist as back-up for staff role, if needed.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree : Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited school of nursing.

- Required enrolled in a Master's Degree program upon entry to the position and complete the Master's Degree program within 24 months of accepting the role. (Required)

- Required CertIfications/Licensures: (Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) , ANCC Nursing Professional Development)

-A minimum of THREE (3) years' experience in nursing and at least ONE (1) year' experience in an Educator role (Required)
