Position Summary:
The DevOps Engineer II is responsible for the intermediate-level design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our clients' DevOps infrastructure. This role requires a solid understanding of cloud services, automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and system administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with development and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain DevOps infrastructure, including cloud services, servers (both Windows and Linux), and applications.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable code deployments.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement best practices for continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Work with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes to manage and scale applications.
- Document configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Provide support and guidance to junior DevOps engineers and other IT staff.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.
- Manage and resolve complex DevOps-related issues through a ticketing system.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and automation.
- Demonstrate a strong drive to achieve professional certifications to further develop expertise and career growth.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Proficiency with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Strong understanding of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience managing and supporting both Windows and Linux servers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, or similar are preferred.
- Experience working with ticketing systems for issue tracking and resolution.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
