SUMMARY:
The Regional Operations Officer (ROO) position is responsible for various branch-related internal control development, risk monitoring, and training functions within the Bank. The ROO performs ongoing monitoring procedures surrounding branch processes; identifies areas of concern that require clarification, additional training, or revisions to processes; summarizes and escalates the areas requiring attention; and coordinates with the regional leadership and the Banks training function to fully support branch associates. In addition, the ROO position will manage float pool staffing for the assigned region.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Time: Description:
35% Facilitate on-the-job training, Zoom training, and mentoring of new branch associates or associates that require additional training in assigned region leveraging technology as appropriate. Complete ROO reporting form and keep regional leadership updated on associate progress.
20% Function as an operational resource and support for defined region of branches. Help resolve branch outages greater than $500. Maintain current knowledge on Policies and Procedures in the branches. Be available and easy to access to assist branch associates as needed.
30% Perform continuous ongoing monitoring of branch internal controls. Complete defined monitoring procedures/analyses monthly and report conclusions to Regional Executive. Through ongoing monitoring process, identify any areas of concern-either and escalate for resolution. (Resolution could involve clarification updates to OPP, working with Training to adjust class content, etc.) Review and summarize conclusions on internal control self-audit work completed by the branches.
5% Participate as primary coordinator for branch associates and operational tasks when a branch location moves, a new branch opens, or a branch closure takes place.
5% Assist with the training and implementation of any new or change in procedures. Assist with maintenance of the Operations Policy and Procedure (OPP) Manual as needed and communicate changes to branch associates timely and efficiently. Participate in monthly Operations meetings.
5% Handle the region's float staff scheduling. Provide back up support in times of emergency (robbery, significant staffing challenge, etc.).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years internal audit, bank operations, or bank branch operations experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Significant travel (not overnight) required for this position. Commuting can be between 1 to 3 hours each way.
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access.)
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems quickly with logic and reasoning.
- Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information.
- Ability to work effectively on specific tasks, with minimal supervision, determining when to act independently and when to refer situations to superiors.
- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with bank associates.
- Thorough knowledge of banking operations, risks, requirements, and policies and procedures.
