District-WideQUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate or equivalent. College Graduate Preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the basic principles of construction and building operations and maintenance, including commercial HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
- At least three (3) years' experience in a supervisory capacity in either business, industry or a governmental agency.
- At least three (3) years' experience in planning and maintaining physical facilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans, directs, communicates and supervises the short and long term maintenance, custodial, energy management and grounds programs for the school district.
- Directs/selects recruitment and employment of custodial, maintenance and grounds personnel (full and part-time).
- Initiates and supervises in-service training programs for all custodial, maintenance and grounds employees.
- Supervises, communicates with and evaluates custodial, maintenance and grounds employees.
- Establishes and maintains a preventive maintenance program throughout the school district.
- Assists in the development of the budget for maintenance, custodial and grounds services and recommends for purchase necessary equipment and supplies.
- Assists with preparation of bid specifications and maintains inventory controls for custodial, maintenance and grounds supplies and equipment.
- Creates an annual department budget, as well as long-term budgetary planning in collaboration with the Business Office for district wide capital project needs.
- Serves as a member of the District's Administrative team, supporting the management, development and implementation of the District-wide plans, policies and procedures.
- Develops and maintains files for all buildings, including blueprints, plans, specifications, contracts, bids and other pertinent information relative to building construction, maintenance and operation.
- Oversees building security measures through proper documentation and distribution of external keys, electronic access systems, and other technology-related internal and external security systems in partnership with the Technology Department.
- Supervises and inspects work performed by outside contractors and verifies that the contract terms have been fulfilled.
- Establishes safety standards and procedures to comply with federal, state and local regulations, including on-going safety-related training.
- Attend School Board meetings as needed, to professionally address the Board regarding facilities, maintenance and operations activities for the District.
- Actively participates in Facility Committee meetings through the Board of Directors.
- Approves and submits payroll and other vouchers to the appropriate department for processing.
- Enforces and follows policies, rules and procedures of the school district.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
