Responsible for attending to the medication needs of the patients and provide drug information to patients, pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff.
Responsibilities
Role Specific Responsibilities
o Maintains records, processes and monitors narcotic usage.
o Reviews, interprets, and processes provider medication orders.
o Prepares IV admixtures and other medications.
o Educates staff on medication usage.
o Educates patients on medication usage.
o Oversees technician staff.
o Monitors drug therapy, takes an active role in drug utilization , intervenes on the patients behalf as necessary, including conferring with providers and other caregivers about therapy, and documents those interventions.
o Participates in community health related events.
o Obtains and maintains competence in pharmacy, including assigned areas and required continuing education
o Participates in work assignments at other SIH facilities.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (Registered) or
Doctorate of Pharmacy (Clinical)
Licenses and Certification
Illinois license of Pharmacy
