Position Description
The Mobile Behaviour Treatment Team (MBTT) is a partnership between Surrey Place's Children and Youth Program and Children's Aid Toronto, designed to help caregivers better manage their child's complex behavioural needs to avert family crisis and reduce the changes of a child coming into care.
Reporting to the Manager, Children & Youth Services, the Mobile Behaviour Treatment Team Lead will provide clinical support to ABA Therapists, Behaviour Analysts and other clinical positions on the MBTT. This position will work directly with caregivers, and with children and youth between the ages of 0-21 with complex needs and behavioural/emotional challenges. The successful candidate will be a Regulated Behaviour Analyst, responsible for behavioural assessments and treatment planning (e.g., behaviour reduction and skill acquisition programs). This position will also be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational requirements of the MBTT.

Main Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment, Intervention and Parent Coaching/Education:
- Support the Manager, Children & Youth Services with the development and implementation of clinical procedures and guidelines for the MBTT.
- Support the Manager, Children & Youth Services to develop and oversee processes and standard operating procedures for the MBTT, including staff orientation and training procedures.
- Monitor the MBTT waitlist and facilitate the efficient and timely provision of clinical service to clients.
- Oversee compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based behaviour analytic assessments and treatments that upholds the safety and dignity of clients and caregivers.
- Write behaviour support plans, PRN protocols and emergency procedures in collaboration with other professionals.
- Develop positive relationships with community groups, partner agencies and resources in the larger community.
- Intensively deliver service in a variety of environments such as homes, communities, hospitals and other settings depending on where our clients are residing.
- Work directly but flexibly with clients to implement behavioural therapy programs and monitor treatments outcomes.
- Engage in interdisciplinary work with the child's Circle of Care by:
- hosting meetings and providing clinical support to other professionals;
- collaborating with families and interdisciplinary team members, including other community services and funding supports incorporating their relevant information into the behavioural support/treatment plans;
- leading rounds, in-service care plan meetings and general planning meetings about clients with the manager, clinical staff, and other service providers at Children's Aid, promoting reunification.
- Develop and oversee new ABA Therapist clinical training procedures.
- Support the Manager, Children & Youth Services with recruitment, supervision of the MBTT staff to ensure high quality treatment is delivered, and provide input into the annual reviews of frontline staff.
- Work with and support team members to develop and enhance their clinical and administrative skills and provide technical or professional advice & guidance as required.
- Coordinate volunteers and students, and ensure designated mentors are available for them.
- Assist with evaluation, educational presentations, research, and outcome measurements.
- Develop and monitor MBTT service & operations, and problem solve as required to effectively utilize service/staffing capacity.
Administration:
- Follow Ministry and Agency guidelines on reporting serious occurrences, duty to report, client and employee incident reports, and provide training to staff on these guidelines.
- Alert management to any safety concerns or emergency protocols used, and liaise with the Manager, Children & Youth Services around safety requirements and program equipment needs for clinical or administrative use.
- Provide leadership and support to key program and agency initiatives and strategic directions.
- Liaise with Children's Aid and Surrey Place's research and evaluation staff to provide data relevant to funder and ministry requirements.
- Participate in funder contract management and reporting processes.
- Other administrative duties as required regarding data reporting to stakeholders (e.g., ensuring CRM data management standards met).
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, or Developmental Disabilities with study/experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
- Registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
- BCBA certification an asset.
- 3 years of related experience working with children and youth with developmental disabilities and their families, with a focus on community engagement.
- Passion for leading, motivating and developing staff skills, with a minimum of one-year administrative experience in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of developmental services and educational, community, and health care service systems for children with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of Children's Aid is an asset.
- Experience on an interdisciplinary team is an asset.
- Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written, as well as strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Hours of operation include ability to work evenings each week and weekends.
- Extensive travel within the City of Toronto will be required.
- The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) and proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Fluency in French is considered an asset.
