We are seeking an outstanding experimental scientist to get new assays up and running as a Member of Technical Staff at FutureHouse. The ideal candidate will have significant experience designing, executing, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of assays in molecular and cell biology. ****If getting experiments to work is your favorite part of science, and you love to get projects off the ground, we strongly encourage you to apply.

This is an individual contributor position based full-time in our San Francisco, CA office.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead onboarding and rapid development of new assays at FutureHouse, ranging from in vitro protein binding measurements to in vivo high throughput screens
  • Ability to independently determine the best strategy to get a new assay up and running and to flexibly pivot when challenges arise
  • Spec development timelines and equipment needs for new assays
  • Design and conduct information-rich experiments that yield conclusive results and inform next steps
  • Maintain detailed, well-organized, and timely documentation of experiments and data
  • Effectively analyze data using a scripting language (Python, R), and communicate results in writing and presentations
  • Communicate research plans and timelines to the team
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of biologists, chemists and AI researchers fostering an environment of innovation and discovery

Position Requirements:
  • PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Genetics, or a related field + 1-3 year experience
  • Demonstrated track record of developing diverse, quantitative molecular biology assays and techniques
  • Exceptional experimental design and troubleshooting ability
  • Exceptional data analysis, data visualization, and communication skills
  • Critical thinker who embraces the unknown and can adapt to rapidly evolving organizational needs
  • Self-starter who learns quickly and relishes new challenges
  • Collaborative spirit who thrives in a fast-paced team
