Position Summary:
Responsible for the Cage operations for all Tohono O'Odham Gaming Enterprise properties. Accountable for accurate accounting of activities within Cage operations such as cash movement to and from the Cage, maintaining cash inventories for the Casinos, documenting transactions within the Cage and adhering to all applicable regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all State and Tohono O'odham Gaming Office regulations.
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, staffing, reviewing and termination of all Cage Managers and oversees same functions for all Cage staff.
Supervises, trains, and directs work of Cage Managers; coaching and mentoring of Cage Managers.
Serves as primary back-up for Cage Managers in the event of absences or vacancies.
Assessment of Cage operation duties, processes, and other functionality. Implements changes need to continue to improve on accuracy, efficiency and customer service.
Ensures effective scheduling for 24-hour coverage.
Oversees the daily operation of the Casino Cage for all properties.
Responsible for maintaining adequate cash and chip inventory to ensure Casino Cage and other gaming department's needs; reviews chip inventory logs for each Casino.
Maintains cash inventory to ensure compliance with bankroll formula.
Approves purchase requisitions for the Cage operations.
Oversees the revenue reports prepared from all documentation turned into the vault from all revenue departments.
Reviews monthly overages and shortages of Cage Operations and implements changes if necessary for improvement.
Responsible for producing and controlling departmental budget and cost projections.
Interprets, understands, enforces and complies with personnel and Cage policies and procedures and all gaming regulations.
Ensures accuracy of all transactions.
Ensures all required monthly reports required by Tribal Gaming Office, and management are delivered upon due dates.
Performs all duties in compliance with Casino personnel and Cage policies and procedures and all applicable laws.
Coordinates changes to online Vault program to Accounting and IT Administration to ensure the integrity of Cage accountability.
Coordinate, plan, and implement annual department goals.
Responds in writing and implements preventive measures to address department deficiencies as reported in Audit findings.
Investigates and resolves customer complaints.
Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
Review and prepare analytical reports for monitoring Cage activities; kiosk activity, variance reports and procedural violations.
Required to test and pass quarterly Title 31 testing.
Maintains excellent customer and employee-to-employee relations.
Maintains confidentiality of all Casino Operations data.
Monitors staffing levels, departmental overtime and departmental operating expenses.
Holds monthly department meetings with Cage Managers and updates them on any changes in policies and procedures.
Meets at least monthly with Chief Financial Officer and advises Chief Financial Officer of any significant incidents, policy & procedure changes, staffing updates, and departmental concerns.
Interacts regularly with other departmental managers and directors to address any issues with the Cage and continually strive to improve internal guest service.
Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree plus ten years experience in the cash handling and customer service field, five of which must have been in the capacity of Cage Manager; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 18 years of age. Must have positive attitude, good role model qualities and be adaptive to change. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license and to include the following:
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
Knowledge and proficiency in intermediate mathematics.
Ability to become familiar with all Cage functions and available to work all shifts to ensure efficient operation at peak times and visibility with all team members.
Skill in supervising, training and coaching assigned staff.
Skill in cashier's Cage operations and of applicable laws on Cage operations.
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
Ability to respond to common inquiries, complaints, or requests from tribal officials, regulatory agencies, customers, management, team members, and/or the public.
Ability to exercise good judgment at all times, including under stressful, high-pressure situations.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in the Casino Cage area with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
