Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs and supervises scheduled/unscheduled repairs on assigned equipment.
- Plans and directs FRA required periodic inspections.Performs Quality Assurance inspections on assigned equipment for compliance with established standards.
- Coordinates equipment manipulation with the Mechanical and Transportation Departments to ensure effective equipment utilization, complete consists, and to maximize schedule compliance for Terminal Department.
- Maintains force inventory, and operates within overtime and material budgets for favorable variances.
- Assumes responsibility for turnaround and layover servicing on assigned equipment.
- Assumes responsibility for safety of assigned employees, equipment and passengers.
- Provides all written communications, productivity reports and other areas of coordination to Mechanical and Line Division.
- Provides for training of subordinates and craft workers through scheduling and mentoring.
- Monitors material availability to ensure material is available for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor progress on assigned campaigns and enter the appropriate information in RAMS.
- Monitor compliance with company policy, FRA regulations, and other operating rules
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering or related technical area, or graduate of an accredited mechanical trade school
- Five (5) years experience in rail equipment maintenance including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- One (1) Year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
