In support of the mission of Goshen Health and reporting to the Revenue Cycle Service Line Administrator, the Director for Patient Financial Services has overall responsibility for the revenue cycle processes within Patient Access and Patient Financial Services. Responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing Managers and Colleagues involved in scheduling and pre-certification, billing and collection process for our patients.

The Director is accountable and responsible for the management and direction of assigned administrative and financial activities, as well as maintaining compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements. The Director will continually evaluate business operations and recommend changes and/or new processes to improve performance.

The Director insures coordination of billing and collection services with other Goshen Health programs and departments whenever possible.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelors degree plus three years experience in patient accounting and receivables.

Preferred Education: Prefer Masters Degree (MS, MBA, MPH, MHA)

Minimum Experience: 3-5years management/leadership experience in a healthcare-related organization. Functional understanding of healthcare billing and regulatory requirements including ICD-9 and CPT coding guidelines.

Preferred Experience: 5+ years supervisory experience in the healthcare billing arena. In-depth knowledge of current healthcare trends and the role of the PFS and Patient Access departments. Experience with healthcare billing systems, electronic billing and receivables management. Overall knowledge of third-party reimbursement, managed care contracts, collection laws, bankruptcy laws, admitting, billing and collection procedures as well as Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
