Binnie is looking for a Survey Project Manager to join our Engineering Survey Division, which is committed to providing dependable survey data for public and private sector projects.
Our team, equipped with the latest technology and software works on a wide range of surveying assignments including large transportation, development, and infrastructure projects. Our services include GPS and control surveys, 3D laser scanning, deformation monitoring, hydrographic, topographic, as well as construction layout.
This is a full-time position in our Burnaby head office, located near scenic Deer Lake. Reporting to the Division Manager, you will continue to build, expand, and lead the operations of our Engineer Survey Division and ensure effective performance and growth of our team.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the survey project, from pre-proposal to completion. Your focus will be on securing and delivering projects while collaborating with our other Divisions and Groups to support overall company growth and performance. You will also utilize your excellent business development skills to maintain strong client relationships and secure new business opportunities. YOUR ROLE:
- Acting as the key contact on projects working with stakeholders, consultants, contractors and support staff
- Coordinate with Division Manager and other Project Managers to secure the required
Binnie resources necessary to complete your project deliverables on schedule
- Leading the development and maintenance of survey project schedules and coordinating resources
- Being responsible for monitoring budget and projecting cash flows
- Proactively supporting clients and anticipating project needs
- Reporting on project status to the client based on a format that they agree to
- Ability to effectively participate in or lead business development planning activities
- Preparing proposals, estimates, and reports in coordination with our proposal team
- Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced team members
- Ensure all survey projects and operations are performed in accordance with health, safety and environmental regulations
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients for work performed based on the accepted proposals and in accordance with Binnie's procedures; review and revise invoices as needed in a timely manner based on draft provided by finance and administration staff
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive survey work experience with exposure to Project
Management or applicable transferrable experience
- Degree or Diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology
- AScT certification with ASTTBC
- Proficiency in advanced software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Centre
- Proficient working knowledge of surveying techniques, practices, equipment and safety requirements
- Progressive experience in managing all aspects of project delivery
- Proficient understanding of project management resource planning and budgeting practices and techniques
- Strong time management skills and ability to work concurrently on several different projects
- Proven team management and delegation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work
- Experience in Utility locates, UAV/Drone, and 3D Scanning is an asset
- Previous survey field experience is an asset
- Ability to represent Binnie externally in a professional manner
