Function
Champions operational excellence initiatives for the company. Oversees roll-out of strategic and tactical projects using a variety of CI tools, including Six Sigma, Lean, PDCA, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, Gemba Walks, Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, 5 Whys, among others. Prioritizes project selection to ensure bottom line results are achieved. Assists Quality, Engineering and Operations departments with ongoing facility initiatives that improve OEE, scrap, and productivity related to manufactured products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees continuous improvement initiatives/project selection and implementation at selected sites. (40%).
Mentors plant staff, supervisors, technical support, and production teams in operational excellence concepts (40%).
Assists on key projects as assigned. (20%)
Position Specifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations or related field.
Master Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
5-10 years manufacturing experience in increasingly responsible roles with emphasis in engineering and/or operations.
Strong knowledge of OpEx tools.
Strong computer skills including Excel, Powerpoint, Minitab, Word, Outlook, Project Management.
Skills including Organizational Planning, Analytical Problem Solving, Interpersonal/Coaching/Mentoring, Communication, Change Leadership, Initiative, Assertiveness, Adaptability, Team Building
Frequent travel required to N.A. operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures projects meet needs and deadlines defined in the AOP or ongoing throughout the year.
- Ensures teams are selected and trained to complete project goals.
- Ensures use of operational excellence tools to assist in defining target conditions and continuously improving in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
- Ensures team-based problem-solving approaches lead to gains in these areas.
- Assists teams and members with mentoring to develop capabilities for continuous improvement.
- Ensures clear evidence of plant leadership team buy-in and evidence of sustained improvement/results.
- Develops or acquires unique or industry standard training programs to fulfill employees specific needs to maintain or improve training manuals, guides, and course materials. Presents training using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
- Provides support to identify potential ROI opportunities in plants.
- Prepares assigned sections of AOP and Business Plan.
