Looking for an opportunity to work for one of the nation's leading design-build firms? We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineering Manager to help our newly established office replicate the success of our Maryland, Texas operations.

Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:
  • Management
    • Provide strong leadership, deep practical electrical engineering knowledge.
    • Bring knowledge and creativity to the position as well as have the discipline to drive results and follow established fundamental processes.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to support the growth and development of the Arizona office staff members.
    • Provide high-level client maintenance to ensure existing and new clients that the quality of the services delivered are closely examined; and work with executive management, directors, team leaders/ engineering managers to develop and ensure standards are maintained, specifically in the areas of quality assurance and training.
    • Drive the strategic growth of TAI's electrical engineering business within the Arizona region.
    • Take all necessary steps to foster a positive attitude among their staff and ensure employees meet individual performance goals.
    • Relate to employees and clients in a mature and professional manner.
    • Work closely with other offices and divisions to ensure projects are staffed with personnel having appropriate qualifications to perform assigned tasks.
    • Responsible for compliance with electrical project scope, budget and schedule.
    • Visit field to scope out projects.
    • Assist in proposal development.
    • Identify project opportunities.
    • Assist in the development of a long-term strategic plan for growth and sustainability of the business.
  • Engineering and Design
    • Responsible for planning, organizing, and performing detailed electrical design with capability to manage engineering activities.
    • Research applicable industry standards, prepare and critique engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
    • Develop and review engineering specifications and project cost estimates.
    • Direct, manage, and review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.
    • Direct contributing engineers and CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.
    • Possess ability to interpret applicable codes.
    • Independently work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.
    • Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
  • Professional Engineering License, preferably within the state of Arizona OR with the ability to obtain an AZ PE.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of electrical design experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of managing, supervising, or leading employees and engineering activities
  • Ability to interact with customers to gather critical information.
  • Ability to promote a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, good customer relation skills, a positive work attitude, and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to manage multiple project teams and work to improve the division.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the proven ability to help grow and develop business.
  • Must be willing to travel to client sites in Pheonix and areas throughout Arizona and occasionally across the US. Extensive travel outside normal working hours is not anticipated.
  • Expertise in specifying and designing electrical systems in at least one of the core industries served by TAI: Data Centers, laboratories, industrial, or government facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of NEC, ICC, NFPA, and energy codes.
    Preferably knowledge of SKM, Easypower, or ETAP
