Description of Job
The Director of Health Services provides leadership, consultation, and outreach regarding health issues within the University community and for the health services center. This full-time administrative professional position is responsible for directing and leading clinical practices for the Wolf Pack Wellness Center at CSU Pueblo. The Director sees scheduled patients and triages and evaluates walk-in service needs for CSU Pueblo undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. This position works collaboratively with the Integrated Wellness Manager to provide leadership and oversight of the Wolf Pack Wellness Center and works closely with the Counseling Center team to provide integrated care for students. The Director is responsible for meeting the healthcare needs of the university population in a holistic manner that encourages wellness and integrates care with other departments such as the Counseling Center, Athletics, Residence Life & Housing, and Academic units.
Treatment will be provided as available in the Wolfpack Wellness Center and the Director will refer students to community resources as appropriate. The Director assists with wellness education and outreach as organized by the Integrated Health Manager and provides medical supervision for the licensed and unlicensed medical staff such as Nurse Practitioners, the Health Tech III, and the Health Care Assistant. The Director also provides expertise in clinical practice and credentialing and ensures the clinic's compliance with all applicable national, state, and local laws and mandates.

Represents the department at appropriate University events such as Welcome Week, Orientation, and Discover Day. Participates in Student Affairs division meetings and development activities. Serves on Student Affairs and University committees.

Primary Duties
Clinical Practice
- Provides healthcare services to the campus population including clinic visits, procedures, well-adult visits, well-woman examinations, treatment of acute illnesses, evaluation and treatment of acute injuries, and triage of clinical services not provided by the WolfPack Wellness Center. Such provision may require referral to community resources such as laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, and emergency services for acute or life-threatening illnesses or injuries.
- Responds to campus-wide emergencies such as an outbreak of contagious illness and collaborates with the Counseling Center for crisis management.
- Provides client care to the students of CSU Pueblo; provides care on a medical level, including but not limited to medical evaluations and diagnosis following all HIPAA guidelines. Supports the development of the whole student with education on health topics in general.
- Refers patients to other services as appropriate, such as the Counseling Center for mental health issues and the Recreation Center for exercise or other recommended activities.
- Documents clinic visits, telephone calls, and referrals in the electronic health care record. Schedules appointments and follow-up appointments. Follows all electronic health care processes as outlined for the office.
- Provides leadership for licensed medical providers and coordinates related services. Ensures the effective planning, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive services. Provides the highest level of decision-making related to health care practices and services provided by the Wolf Pack Wellness Center. Provides clinical supervision of medical support staff. In collaboration with the Integrated Health Manager, oversee the hiring, onboarding, and on-going training of licensed and unlicensed staff. Develops and updates university policies and procedures as appropriate related to healthcare concerns.
- Ensures Wolf Pack Wellness Services meet legal, ethical, and accrediting body standards. Ensures all services reflect a commitment to diversity and the inclusion of all students.
- Participates in the University CARES Behavior Intervention Team as needed. Participates in all related trainings arranged by the CARES team.
- Provides education for students, faculty, and staff regarding healthcare issues. This may include but is not limited to providing educational information and training to Resident Assistants, Professional Housing staff, Desk Attendants, student athletes, Greek Life, Student Organizations, and in-classroom participation
- Maintains active and strong cross-campus relationships with faculty and staff to support student well-being including Nursing, Social Work, and Health Promotions programs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Nationally Board Certified in area of specialty, i.e. adult or family practice
- Advanced practice licensure in the State of Colorado
- Prescriptive Authority in the State of Colorado
- DEA certified for schedule prescription medications
- Experience with telehealth triage
- Experience with referrals and available community resources.
- Demonstrated experience working on cross-institutional/ functional teams, including group facilitation and curriculum/ learning design experienceTraining or experience in position(s) or activities that required:
Knowledge/skills regarding day-to-day operations of healthcare clinic and counseling center operations
Knowledge of HIPAA combined with strong knowledge of holistic preventative health care
Extensive knowledge and experience in health insurance credentialing and/or billing for reimbursement
The ability to speak knowledgeably on health issues or concerns such as immunizations, vaccinations, and mental health concerns
- Experience in PyraMed scheduling, documentation, and reports
- Ability to develop clinical templates and update same to demonstrate meaningful use and best practice
