Vertical Solutions Architects are the trusted advisors to New Relic prospects and clients, specializing in one or more industry verticals. As part of the Verticals Organization, you will support New Relic customers in designing observability architectures specific to Media and Entertainment. Solutions Architects work collaboratively with New Relic's customers across segments, Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing organizations. You will collaborate to work on strategic engagements requiring a high degree of strategic planning, consulting, hands-on technical expertise, and internal New Relic cross-departmental collaboration.
Vertical Solution Architects help shape and execute a strategy to utilize New Relic platform capabilities to deliver measurable, vertical-specific business outcomes. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting. Candidates should also have a demonstrated skill to think strategically about business, products, and technical problems.
You will specialize in leading observability land-and-expand opportunities at Media customers by providing thought leadership for solution design, implementation of best practices, and technical troubleshooting. As the expert overlay on Media accounts, you will help inform New Relic's go-to-market strategy in Media and Entertainment, including identifying product priorities and working to develop the sales strategy.

What you'll do
- In partnership with sales and product teams, lead Media technical evaluations via New Relic POC/POV ownership
- Create and maintain relationships with key customer contacts that contribute to large Net ACR deals and platform consumption
- Engage with customers, both onsite and remote, in a technical consultancy and advisor role during different phases of sales cycles while providing technical assistance and solution guidance
- Understand and document the current and desired state of the customer's observability state and design solutions to address the identified gaps
- Map desired customer business outcomes to the required observability capabilities
- Build the brand, trust, and credibility in the observability space by developing artifacts such as reference architectures, technical blogs, conference presentations, a repository of field resources
- Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies and act as the vertical expert and advisor to Sales, Product, and Marketing.
- Continuously improve your professional skills with a focus on personal mastery and team learning through activities such as training, reading, and seeking mentorship from others
This role requires
- BS in CS (or equivalent)
- Experience developing with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Golang
- 4+ years of customer facing technical sales or consulting experience
- Hands-on experience and working understanding of video technologies and media architectures (OTT, Broadcast, etc)
- Background in mobile device platforms & architectures (IOS & Android)
- 4+ years of hands-on observability experience with either New Relic, Splunk, AppDynamics, DataDog, Dynatrace, Grafana Labs, or other observability platforms
- Understanding of Service Level measurement approaches
- Technical, Executive presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to analyze & interpret business requirements and customer interactions to anticipate and guide client needs
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of customer organization from executive to developer/practitioner levels
Bonus points if you have
- MS in CS (or equivalent).
- Experience with either Conviva, Youbora, Mux, or other video analytics platforms
- Experience with AWS Elemental or other media processing platforms
