Senior Staff Accountant (5+ years of experience)
Sasaki seeks a Senior Accountant to join its award-winning firm in the Boston, MA office.

Successful candidates will have a degree in Accounting and 5+ years of accounting experience, excellent verbal communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with team members. Architecture & Engineering experience, Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day accounting and finance support across the full range of accounting activities. Supervise outsource accounting work and review/approve accounting data entered by staff members. Review bank reconciliations, general ledger review, financial statement preparation, assist with forecasting and budget preparation.
- Manages month-end financial preparation.
- Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval
- Review accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and all other accounting entries.
- Manages various cash receipts processes.
- Reviews all Client Invoice drafts, makes corrections and ensures completeness before sending to Clients.
- Identify journal entries needed to ensure accurate financial reporting; ensure all journal entries are recorded properly with appropriate reviews.
- Oversees bank accounts and resolves any issues that may come up, including uncleared checks & differences.
- Secures financial information including main accounting files, payroll, accounts payable, deposits, and credit cards within Sasaki's network.
- Assists with monthly financial health dashboard and quarterly reporting.
- Preparing documentation and additional information for external accountant tax preparation.
- Assists with all audits with an external audit team, including various insurance, 401k, year-end, overhead, indirect cost, and end-of-year audits.
- Familiarity with industry specific tax credit preparation (Architecture, Engineering and Construction or AEC).
- Contribute to work identifying, researching, and implementing improvements in financial systems and processes to create workflow efficiencies and cost-saving techniques.
- Assists with the supervision and training of Staff Accountants.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full time accounting experience, architectural industry knowledge preferred
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial analysis
- Deltek product (e.g., VantagePoint) experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative and professional work ethic
