We are looking to fill a permanent, full-time position for an Inventory Planning Manager at MIBRO in Toronto, Ontario office, a division of Richelieu Hardware Ltd.

Reporting to: Director of Procurement / General Manager

Position overview:

Responsible for inventory management and Logistics with the purpose of maintaining a high fill-rate level/service level with all customers

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Maintain an optimal inventory level (service rate, turnover, etc.)

  • Generate and analyze a procurement plan, considering financial and operational impacts, with consideration, supplier's capacity

  • Ensure accuracy of product availability information for sales

  • Monitor sales forecasts generated from sales history or by the demand management team

  • Optimize procurement and operational costs related to procurement strategy

  • Develop a purchasing plan to support the corporate purchasing department

  • Determine and communicate priorities to suppliers based on market needs
  • Analyze and act upon procurement report recommendations (place orders)
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels across all warehouses for the product portfolio
  • Work closely with Operations- communication needed for managing multiple locations:
    • Toronto, Kitchener, Calgary, Chicago, Puerto Rico, China, Etc.
  • Understand factors affecting procurement performance indicators and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain and optimize procurement parameters for the product portfolio
  • Collaborate with product managers and marketing agents
  • Address procurement issues with various stakeholders
  • Apply procurement policies and procedures
  • Perform any other job-related tasks assigned by immediate superior
  • Provide leadership- training and development, job performance and evaluations for direct reports
  • Forecasting current requirements; including promotions
  • new customers, new listings, ongoing changes, discontinued products & programs
  • Resolving inventory problems such as back orders or discrepancies.
  • Oversee inbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery of materials and goods
  • Provide support in classifying new sku's with appropriate tariff codes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration (Operations Management and Logistics)
  • Certifications in "supply chain" or "inventory management" also an asset
  • Experience in procurement and planning (forecasting & supply planning) in a manufacturing or distribution context (5 + years)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (office suite- Excel, Word...)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment is essential
  • Independent in carrying out daily tasks
  • Willingness to take initiative
  • Strong time-management skills, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize workload
  • Bilingualism (English and French) in both oral and written communication
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
