Service Line: Engineered Solutions (EGS)

Reports to: VP of Engineering

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fabrication Production Manager (FPM) to join our team. The FPM will lead the Engineered Solutions division which serves as a support function to DHI's other service lines. The ideal candidate will have experience managing fabrication, repair, and maintenance projects. Current DHI projects include frac tank refurbishment, conversion of frac tanks to higher value assets, and fabrication of oil field water treatment equipment including gun barrels, dissolved air flotation units, chemical injection skids, and pump skids

RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Management of DHI's Engineered Solutions Group Odessa, TX Operations
  • Subject matter expert for fabrication, repair, and maintenance projects
  • Manage team to complete various equipment fabrication, repair, and maintenance projects from start to finish
  • Ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop and implement plans and strategies for completing projects
  • Work with the EGS Project Planner and Project Engineer to prepare project schedules, including logic and resource/budget allocation, and provide updates as required
  • Communicate project status updates and milestones to internal stakeholders
  • Implement and optimize production schedules to ensure timely delivery of EGS projects
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize processes
  • Hire and manage personnel as needed including welders, laborers, painters, sand blasters, and shop foremen to complete projects
  • Train, mentor, and supervise EGS personnel
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet deadlines
  • Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety standards
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation, including work breakdown structures, Gantt charts, and resource allocation plans
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services required for project execution
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track
  • Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, address issues, and adjust project plans as needed
  • Evaluate project performance against key metrics and objectives, identifying areas for improvement
  • Evaluates employee performance and accountability
  • Facilitates and promotes company policy


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PMP Certification or CAPM is preferred by not required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and processes
  • 5+ years' experience in managing fabrication projects in oilfield or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Experience with SolidWorks preferred
  • Knowledge in sheet metal, structural steel, pipe and misc. fabrication
  • Experience with rotating equipment including pumps and motors
  • Experience with creating budgets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy in project documentation and reporting

REQUIREMENTS:
  • The job is in Odessa, Texas, and the chosen candidate must reside within a 60-mile radius of Odessa
  • Proficiency in English is a must. Knowing spoken Spanish is seen as advantageous
  • Having strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards working with others is highly valued
