Position Overview: The District Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the propane operations within the designated district. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain the highest standards of safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the propane pipeline network and bulk delivery business, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services. Develop and implement operational strategies to meet performance goals and optimize resource utilization.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, drivers, technicians, and support staff. Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training opportunities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with the Compliance Manager to ensure that all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including safety, environmental, and industry standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.
- Safety Management: Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the district. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency response drills. Address and resolve safety issues promptly.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise. Implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and service quality.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the district's budget, including cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting. Analyze financial performance and implement measures to achieve financial targets and enhance profitability.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute long-term strategic plans for the district. Identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of various projects, including pipeline expansions, maintenance, and upgrades. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the district and corporate headquarters. Provide regular updates on district performance, challenges, and opportunities. Facilitate effective communication across all levels of the organization.

- Support the Area Director, when called upon, in other districts within the area.
- Identify and participate in opportunities to support the company in other areas for network initiatives or urgent activities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the energy or utilities sector, with a strong background in pipeline operations.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and driving operational excellence.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to propane and pipeline operations.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed within the district.
- Ability to thrive in a changing environment and deal with ambiguity
- Solid time management skills: ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- This position is full-time, standard operating hours
- Travel between field locations will be required
