Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the management of the Infection Control Program, including staff, physician and patient education with regards to infection control practices and prevention measures; data collection; chart and microbiology review; processing of data to be used in decision making for infection control. Works with pharmacy to insure appropriate use of antibiotics. Consults with nursing and other staff regarding infection control and employee health issues. Integrates Infection Control surveillance with Performance Improvement Plan to assure quality patient care.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN preferred. Computer literacy with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Minimum of five years nursing experience. Prior experience in adult education, epidemiological principles, infectious disease, and aseptic practices is preferred.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse in California. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Fluent in written and spoken English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
