Director, Sourcebook Copy

Job Description

RH is seeking an experienced and exceptional leader and Director of Sourcebook Copy to join the Brand Copy Team. The person in this role will be responsible for leading a team of talented editors working on numerous sourcebooks throughout the year, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure accuracy and consistency. The position demands excellent copyediting and proofreading skills, a team-player mindset, and a desire to join RH at an exciting time of global growth and expansion.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team of editors responsible for writing, editing and proofreading sourcebook copy, both in print and digitally
• Become an expert in RH style and brand voice, with deep knowledge of the products, copy attributes, the industry, and competitor content and presentation
• Copyedit and proofread all print and digital sourcebook copy, ensuring accuracy of information and compliance with style guide and brand standards
• Serve as copy lead on numerous sourcebooks throughout the year, working closely with merchant partners to gather all information and updates
• Collaborate with partners to formulate sourcebook copy schedules, establish priorities, assign contributors and ensure deadlines are met
• Support the VP, Brand Copy with high-level messaging strategy and creative copy as needed
• Develop familiarity with RH products across all categories in order to ensure that copy is thorough and accurate
• Keep track of product information updates
• Maintain the RH style guide and word list
• Verify pricing in the Canadian, UK and EU editions of RH sourcebooks
• Copyedit and proofread collateral including spec sheets, care sheets, creative copy, assembly instructions, signage and hospitality content as needed

OUR REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 7 years of copyediting experience; retail/home furnishings experience and/or luxury retail experience highly desirable
• Prior leadership experience; adept at creating a supportive working environment and motivating others
• Excellent writing, copyediting and proofreading skills
• Extremely detail oriented, relentlessly meticulous, and a stickler for accuracy and consistency
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines simultaneously, while paying impeccable attention to detail; logical thinker and creative problem solver
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Works well in a team environment; self-starter who takes a proactive role
• Ability to clearly communicate with multiple stakeholders and leaders, working collaboratively to ensure that deadlines are met
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Suite
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings during deadline periods, as needed
