Position Overview
The Strategy & Analytics Race Engineer will work within the Race Engineering group and will be primarily responsible for helping the team prepare for race weekends. Work will include driver analytics, race strategy, and general preparation work. The ideal candidate will extract and present conclusions using all means available including, but not limited to commercial and proprietary software tools as well as work with the team's data analytics group to continually develop said tools. Candidates for this position will work directly with drivers, team managers, race engineers, and data analytic engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Use data to characterize driving techniques and provide summaries to team managers and drivers when requested
- Analyze historical data and use predictive models to determine optimum race strategies - summarize and provide suggestions to team managers
- Provide guidance to data analytics department for continual improvement of analytical and strategical algorithms and the presentation of data
- Assist primary team managers, race engineers, and team mechanics with routine preparation work including, but not limited to documentation, setting up scales, setting dashes, and assisting with the NASCAR technical inspection process
- Assist IT department with maintenance and operation of all networking equipment utilized at the race track
- Assist team with post-race analysis of each event
- Support all on track activity either remotely or with travel as determined by team manager
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or higher
- 3+ years of motorsports experience preferred
- Experience with engineering or coding software such at MATLAB, Python, Tibco Spotfire preferred
- Strong attention to detail
