We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This key role involves designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated data management systems to support intelligence needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architectures, storage solutions, and optimization techniques, with a proven track record of working within the Intelligence Community (IC). Responsibilities & other details are listed below:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and implement data management systems that support intelligence operations. This includes determining how data will be stored, accessed, integrated, and managed by different digital systems.
  • Develop and maintain optimal data architectures, structures, and systems to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Work with data users to create and populate these systems.
  • Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance to meet the needs of large-scale intelligence data operations.
  • Participate in the selection and configuration of backend database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, HPC) and optimize the full data pipeline infrastructure to support specific queries and analytical processes.
  • Collaborate with data users and intelligence analysts to understand their requirements and ensure that data systems are aligned with mission objectives.
  • Implement data protection measures and ensure that data systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with DoD and IC policies.

ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in data engineering, database management, or a related field, with significant experience in intelligence data operations.
  • Expertise in SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, data architecture, and performance optimization. Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) SCI clearance.
