We are currently seeking a Director of Patient Services and Clinical Education to join our team. This is an in-person position working full-time. The salary is $95k - $105k annually and is commensurate with education, applicable experience, licensing and certifications.

DIRECTOR OF PATIENT SERVICES AND CLINICAL EDUCATION
Summary: The Director of Patient Services and Clinical Education will manage the coordination of patient care and patient service delivery logistics. In addition, the position will provide professional development and education to our clinical staff to provide and improve the skills and knowledge needed to give the highest level of care to our patients. Also, the Director will provide field supervision of clinical staff and provide feedback to staff and supervisors as to findings and will create plans of correction for any identified deficiencies or areas in need of improvement. Will participate in a variety of quality improvement projects and develop and lead initiatives to improve staff performance through education and training. The position is an integral member of the nursing leadership team.

Qualifications:
- NYS RN License and BSN required, Master's in Nursing or Public Health preferred
- Experience as an RN educator. Previous hospice experience can be an acceptable substitution for a lack of previous clinical educator experience
- Possesses excellent attention to detail, ability to follow oral and written instructions, and a professional office demeanor
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well with diverse populations, professionals, volunteers, and patients in a personable and effective manner
- Ability to manage many projects simultaneously and to change priorities as needed
- Supportive of hospice philosophy and comfortable with issues related to terminal illness
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, EMRs, and ability to learn new software systems as needed; current knowledge of SunCoast ERM is a plus
- Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record/ insurance for regular travel as required
Responsibilities will include, though not be limited to:
- Provide field supervision to nurses and HHAs. Serve as a preceptor for new staff
- Coordinate patient care services to ensure appropriate patient navigation
- Supervise intake and admission functions of programs. Provide leadership for care coordination as a member of clinical team
- Designed, create, and provide training and orientation for clinical staff. Create and deliver multiple in-service training courses to clinical staff throughout the year with support from colleagues
- Develop and manage patient services logistics to ensure patient satisfaction
- If not at time of hire, become an expert in Joint Commission Accreditation standards
- Provide detailed reports to leadership pertaining to training effectiveness and detailed recommendations for improvements. Design an annual training plan for each position class
- Participate as a member of QAPI committee and lead initiatives to provide responses to correct and improve services through education and training
- Perform periodic and systematic clinical record reviews to monitor compliance, provide feedback to staff and leadership. Use information gained from audits to design, create, and deliver education and training to improve staff skills and patient care. Monitor compliance with monthly quality reports
- Investigate issues pertaining to the quality of care provided to patients and provide education and training recommendations leading to the design and creation of a training response for staff
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and creation, design, and delivery of safety training
- Participate in quality assurance reviews of complaints, medication errors and adverse drug events, falls, infection control issues from a training and education perspective, provide solutions
- If not at time of hire, become an EMR super user through provided training and perform all staff training
- Will be in rotation as administrator on-call
- Accepts other responsibilities as assigned
