Structural Engineer

The Opportunity:

Join our clients team as a Structural Engineer, where you'll be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering structural engineering projects. You'll ensure projects are within budget, on schedule, and meet client expectations. This role involves managing day-to-day client interactions and leading internal and external project teams to deliver high-quality structural designs.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Planning, executing, and delivering structural engineering projects while managing client expectations.
• Managing day-to-day client interactions and ensuring clear communication with clients and project teams.
• Leading project execution by directing the project team, scheduling tasks, and serving as the main point of contact.
• Utilizing 3D structural modeling software for multistory residential buildings and applying strong knowledge of Part 4 Loading requirements as specified in OBC and NBC.
• Developing detailed structural designs for various projects, including multistory residential precast buildings, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Performing complex engineering calculations and designs, transforming project scope from concept to construction while adhering to regulatory codes and standards.
• Handling other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
• Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.).
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm.
• Advanced understanding of building structural design, the Ontario Building Code, building permit processes, and applicable regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in technical report writing.
• Access to a vehicle and a valid 'G' driver's license for travel to project sites. Mileage will be reimbursed for work-related travel.
