Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Analysis
- Evaluate and implement job analysis instruments and materials.
- Prepare analysis of new and maintain existing job descriptions for all Funds positions; ensure descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
- Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
- Research regulatory issues and compliance with the DOL (Department of Labor) and other employment governing agencies, as they relate to essential duties, assessing and determining appropriate FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) classifications, ADA requirements, appropriate salary ranges, etc.
- Support the Talent Acquisition Team to ensure job descriptions provide information on tasks, skills, and expertise needed to develop candidate profiles, interview assessments, and other helpful tools to support the recruitment and selection process.
- Support the Learning & Development Team to ensure job descriptions provide information on the tasks to be completed, the skills, and expertise needed to assist the construction of training programs.
- Assist to establish policies and best practices for the maintenance and upkeep of all job descriptions and related information.
Compensation
- Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
- Prepare recommendations to management based on market research and internal factors for all jobs, grades, and structures.
- Maintain approved job classifications and salary scales.
- Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
- Gather data from market-based compensation surveys; use spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
- Conduct data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.
- Partner with Funds management and recommend what to pay staff at various points of their employment.
- Advise and develop best practices in and maintenance of Funds pay structures and policies.
- Execute all related compensation activities in accordance with the Funds policies and philosophy.
General Responsibilities
- Track all activities and create dashboards to monitor projects, routine, and ad hoc assignments as they relate to job analysis and compensation.
- Perform other related assignments or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in compensation analysis or in a similar field, with a focus on compensation or as an analyst in a data-driven benefits delivery environment.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills, including managing large data sets, pivot tables and reporting, VLOOKUPs, and advanced functions/formulas preferred.
- Knowledge of job analysis, tools used to perform analysis, development and administration of pay structures, salary benchmarking and analysis, employment law, FLSA and ADA applications, and other employment regulations in NYS and East coast states preferred.
- Outstanding work ethic and employment record such as accountable, reliable and credible.
- Effective relationship management skills and ability to apply them across all levels within the organization.
- Project management and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional judgment with critical evaluation and analytical skills.
- Well organized, attentive to detail, able to multitask, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information.
- Proven track record of managing confidential data and ensuring that information is accessible only to authorized individuals.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices for protecting sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Certification in compensation or certification in progress (e.g., CCP) is a plus.
