Job Summary:
The Elementary Principal is responsible for the overall operation of their building and the active promotion of an atmosphere that is most conducive to effective learning. As part of his/her educational responsibilities, the principal guides the instructional program and is responsible for keeping current on educational improvement efforts that are designed to achieve high levels of student performance. The educational leader is a strong advocate and supporter of the district's goals and objectives that are outlined in the district's vision.
Flint Community Schools, an urban public school system with campuses throughout the City of Flint, Michigan, has a long and rich tradition of community education. Flint Community Schools provide a range of academic, extended services and extracurricular activities at the elementary and secondary levels to meet the needs of our students and their families.
Salary & Benefits:
Administrative Salary Schedule, 211 Days
$80,401 Annual Salary
$2,000 Hiring Bonus*
*Per Article 13(G) of the Congress Master Contract, "A one-time new hire signing ("bonus") may be provided to individuals newly hired and assigned to an administrator position represented by Congress." The hiring bonus shall be distributed to eligible administrators (new district employees only) based on available and sustainable funds and payable in accordance with District policy and guidelines.
Health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. Employees shall be subject to the co-payment of health care costs equal to the difference between the premium cost and the annual cost limitation imposed on public employers.

Education:
- Master's degree, Ed Specialist or advanced degree in an educational leadership field is required.
- Valid Administrative Certification by the State of Michigan is required.
- Valid State of Michigan elementary teaching certificate is preferred.
- Must maintain all legally required certifications and credits.
Experience:
- At least five (5) years of successful elementary teaching experience and/or administrative experience in education is preferred.
